The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to add to their prospect pool, signing defenceman Blake Smith to a three-year, entry-level contract on Thursday.
Smith is coming off a career-best season, scoring 10 goals and 32 points in 64 games with the Flint Firebirds where he also served as an assistant captain. He also recorded an assist in five playoff games for the Firebirds.
The Oshawa, Ont, native went undrafted after playing four seasons in the OHL with Flint and the Generals.
