Alex Nylander agrees to one-year deal with Toronto Marlies

Alex Nylander is extending his time in Toronto, agreeing to a one-year deal with the AHL Marlies.

Nylander appeared in 64 games last season with the Marlies, scoring 23 goals and 44 points. The 27-year-old also made five appearances with the Leafs.

In 126 career NHL games, Nylander has 24 goals and 49 points with the Buffalo Sabres, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Pittsburgh Penguins and Leafs.

Toronto’s AHL affiliate announced that it also signed forwards Brandon Baddock and Luke Grainger.

Baddock recorded one goal in seven games with the Marlies last season after being acquired from the Rockford IceHogs on March 14.

Grainger split last season with the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda and the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder. He had nine goals and 21 points in 36 games in the ECHL and one goal in seven games in the AHL.
