Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD), has recently rolled out a digital learning app for mathematics, the Mathplus.
The web-based application for Android devices and desktop is designed for Grade 1 to 11 students for digital learning. DOST-PCIEERD executive director Enrico Paringit said that the PCIEERD funded the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) project for PHP 4.9 million.
The Mathplus aims to promote statistical literacy of Filipino students and provides teaching guides and resources according to the student’s grade level. It focuses on the development of understanding, estimating, computing, or solving; conjecturing, proving; visualizing and modeling, as well as connecting. The app is available for free and can be used by teachers, administrators, students, as well as parents.
The app was developed by ADMU mathematicians, mathematics educators, and hired software developers. You may also visit the Mathplus website for more information.
