Ryan Burr will get a chance to shine for the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday.
The Jays revealed that the 30-year-old will start on the mound to open the four-game series with the Los Angeles Angels at home.
It will be the first opening assignment for Burr, who has a 5.40 ERA and a 23 strikeouts across 18.1 innings for Toronto.
Ryan Yarbrough is expected to be used as a bulk reliever.
The Blue Jays acquired the right-hander at the end of May, who was pitching for the Philadelphia Phillies’ triple-A affiliate.
Burr was with the Tampa Bay Rays in the minors last year.
Toronto is 30-33 at home this year, 59-68 record overall.
