The Florida Panthers will be without Matthew Tkachuk in their return after the 4 Nations Face-Off against the Seattle Kraken.
Head coach Paul Maurice ruled out Tkachuk and said that he will be looked at by the medical staff over the next few days.
Tkachuk missed most of the 4 Nations Face-Off final between the U.S. and Canada with an apparent injury. USA Hockey did not disclose what the injury is and Tkachuk remained on the U.S. bench cheering his teammates on.
The 27-year-old skated only 6:47 of ice time in the game. He limped “badly” out of the arena after the contest, per Michael Russo of The Athletic.
He had previously been injured in the first game between the U.S. and Canada last Saturday and missed the U.S.’s final round-robin game against Sweden.
