Display

This is probably one of the most interesting parts to discuss the realme 7 series. All three phones pack screen sizes above 6-inches with very minor differences and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The realme 7 and realme 7 Pro pack Full HD+ resolutions, while the realme 7i has an HD+. So you might want to consider the first two if you’re into hi-res screens.

The realme 7 and realme 7i use LTPS IPS panels for thinner displays with rich colors. The realme 7 Pro, on the other hand, uses Super AMOLED. If you want punchy colors and deep blacks, you’d want to pick the latter. Not to mention, the Pro model has dual stereo speakers which are great for those who game, or watch plenty of movies on their phones.

This is the interesting part, the realme 7 and realme 7i sport 90Hz refresh rates, while the realme 7 Pro does not. Top-of-the-line models usually get the best features, so it’s unusual not to find a high refresh rate on the 7 Pro.

Processor

Different chipsets from the mid-range category also power the three devices. The realme 7 sports a MediaTek Helio G95 with Mali-G76 MC4 GPU, the realme 7 Pro has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G with Adreno 618 GPU, while the realme 7i has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 with Adreno 610 GPU.

Based on our reviews, the realme 7 series performed really well, especially the 7 and 7 Pro models. You can see the difference in performance in the benchmark scores below:

  realme 7 realme 7 Pro realme 7i
AnTuTu 292,963 284,399 143,585
Geekbench 512 (Single-core) 573 (Single-core) 311 ( Single-core)
1,531 (Multi-core) 1,798 (Multi-core) 1,309 (Multi-core)
PC Mark 10,498 (Work 2.0) 10,364 (Work 2.0) 6,316 (Work 2.0)
3D Mark SSE 2,657 (OpenGL) 2,541 (OpenGL) 1,180 (OpenGL)
2,507 (Vulkan) 2,372 (Vulkan) 1,119 (Vulkan)
AndroBench 519.05 MB/s (Seq Read) 512.37 MB/s (Seq Read) 515.36 MB/s (Seq Read)
202.31 MB/s (Seq. Write) 203.76 MB/s (Seq. Write) 201.32 MB/s (Seq Write)

Looking at the scores, the realme 7 and 7 Pro are pretty much close, so you can expect a similar performance level. The realme 7i gets much lower scores given the lower tier chipset.

RAM and Storage

realme kept it simple when it comes to the realme 7 series’s memory configurations in the Philippines. All models get 8GB of RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 with dedicated microSD card slots.

Cameras

All three phones have quad-rear camera systems with similar configurations: 64MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP portrait, and 2MP macro. Based on our reviews, the realme 7 series have solid cameras that can produce good photos.

We can find some differences, though, in the selfie camera. The realme 7 and 7i have 16MP shooters, while the realme 7 Pro has a 32MP. The latter should produce sharper selfies given the resolution.

Connectivity

The realme 7 series almost have the same set of connectivity features. They all have dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, SatNav systems, and USB Type-C port. The realme 7i, however, has a 3.5mm audio jack.

All have fingerprint scanners and different implementations — the realme 7 has it on the side, the 7 Pro under the display, and the 7i at the back.

Battery

The realme 7 and realme 7i have the same 5,000mAh battery capacity but with different fast charging rates. The former has the 30W Dart Charge while the latter has 18W Quick Charge.

The realme 7 Pro has a smaller 4,500mAh battery but with an impressive 65W Super Dart fast charging.

Price

Given the difference in specs, the three devices are also priced differently. The realme 7i is the most affordable at PHP 11,990, followed by the realme 7 at PHP 14,990, then the realme 7 Pro at PHP 17,990.

Which one is for you?

If you want a smooth 90Hz refresh rate and big battery but on a tight budget, you’re going to be okay with the realme 7i.

BUT, if you can shell-out PHP 3,000 more, you can go for the realme 7 and get the same 90Hz refresh rate but with FHD+ resolution, more powerful CPU, and faster charging. You lose the 3.5mm audio jack, though, but it’s a small trade-off.

Lastly, if you want an FHD+ Super AMOLED screen with deep blacks and punchier colors, in-display fingerprint scanner, higher selfie camera resolution, stereo speakers, and 65W charging, go with the realme 7 Pro. But take note that the battery capacity is 500mAh less, and you’re not getting the 90Hz refresh rate.

Enhance the experience with realme AIoT products

While you’re in the process of deciding which realme 7 series smartphone to get, why not include realme’s AIoT products to complete the experience.

For audio, there are the realme Buds Q TWS for PHP 1,490, the Buds Air Neo TWS for PHP 1,990, the Buds Air for PHP 3,990, and the realme Buds Classic for PHP 590.

If you’re into fitness and in need of a fitness tracker or smartwatch, take a look at the realme Watch for PHP 3,990 and the realme Band for PHP 1,390.

Although the realme 7 series pack large batteries, you’ll still need a backup in case of emergencies. For that, there’s the realme Powerbank 2 with 10,000mAh capacity for PHP 1,190.

And there you have it. We hope that this guide has helped you pick the right realme smartphone and accessories to immerse yourself in the realme ecosystem.
