Google Voice adds new missed call and caller ID features

Google has just announced new updates to Google Voice, and it will be rolling out these new features on newer Android and iOS devices.

Google announced new usability enhancements to Voice on Android, iOS, and the web. The company has announced that dropped calls and missed calls will now give you more information. Users will now know why the device couldn’t complete or receive a call. Now users can see why a call did not ring and what you can do to fix it. There will be a Missed Call details section, and Google Voice will give you recommended steps like turning off Do Not disturb or setting the device to receive calls.

Google will also help you if your call dropped and will easily redial for you. If a call is dropped due to poor internet connectivity, Google Voice will suggest an option for you to call using your mobile carrier.

The last feature to be announced is “Caller ID,” a new setting that allows people to see their Google Voice Number instead of their regular phone number. When this setting is on, you will see the number that is linked to Google Voice as Caller ID.

On the SMS side, users who rely on Google Voice for SMS will now be able to bulk delete threads and messages at one time to streamline workflows. This feature has been requested frequently by users. To use the feature, simply tap on the avatar on one or more SMS threads, and a trash bin will appear, allowing these message threads to be deleted.

These new features will be available to all Google Workspace customers who subscribe to Google Voice, as well as G Suite Basic and Business customers.
