ByteDance’s video games unit Nuverse is reported to acquire Moonton, the company behind Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
In a report by Reuters, ByteDance, the company behind TikTok, said that its video games unit Nuverse has agreed to acquire Moonton Technology.

“Through cross-team collaboration and drawing on lessons and insights from its own rapid growth, Moonton provides the strategic support needed to accelerate Nuverse’s global gaming offerings,” ByteDance said in a statement.
The report also cited an internal memo from Yuan Jing, CEO of Moonton, saying that the company would operate independently from ByteDance after the acquisition.
Other details of the acquisition are yet to be officially released as of writing.
