Ookla June 2021: PH mobile internet at 32.84 Mbps, fixed broadband at 66.55 Mbps

Ookla has recently released their updated Speedtest Global Index for June 2021, showing the Philippines’ average mobile internet download speed at 32.84Mbps, while the average fixed broadband download speed is at 65.55 Mbps.

For Mobile, the Philippines now ranks 75th with an average download speed of 32.84 Mbps, an average upload of 8.92 Mbps, and a latency of 31ms. That’s two steps ahead of the May ranking of 77th with 31.98 Mbps, an average upload of 8.74 Mbps, and a latency of 30ms.

On the other hand, for Fixed Broadband, the country is up at rank 62nd with an average download of 66.55 Mbps, upload of 66.86 Mbps, and latency of 22ms. It’s a jump from May’s 65th ranking with an average download of 58.73 Mbps, upload of 57.40 Mbps, and latency of 21ms.

Despite the improvements, the Philippines has still a long way to go compared to other countries. Leading the ranking for June 2021 in Mobile is UAE with an average of 193.51 Mbps. Leading fixed broadband, however, is Monaco with 260.74 Mbps.
