The Minnesota Twins will be without Carlos Correa for the remainder of their game against the Houston Astros.
The All-Star shortstop left the game after he was hit on the hand by a 96 m.p.h. pitch from Astros starter Spencer Arrighetti and was replaced by pinch runner Kyle Farmer.
Minnesota later announced that Correa left with a right finger contusion and that initial imaging did not reveal a fracture.
Correa appeared in visible pain and after speaking with Twins manager Rocco Baldelli and the team trainer, made his way back to the dugout at the bottom of the first inning.
The 29-year-old is slashing .305/.376/.508 this season — bouncing back from a career-low year in 2023.
Correa was selected by the Astros first overall in 2012 and played with the organization for seven years before he joined the Twins as a free agent in 2022.
