Braves acquire Mauricio Dubon from Astros in exchange for Nick Allen

The Atlanta Braves added depth to their infield through a trade on Wednesday when they acquired Mauricio Dubón from the Houston Astros in exchange for infielder Nick Allen, the teams announced.

Through four seasons with the Astros, Dubón slashed .256/.292/.367 over 485 games and won a World Series title with the club in 2022. This year, he earned his second career Golden Glove at the utility position, recognizing him as one of baseball’s top defenders.

The Honduran-born infielder has played in seven different defensive positions throughout his seven-year MLB career, including stints at shortstop and second base.

The 27-year-old Allen leaves Atlanta after only one year with the ball club. He batted .221 through 135 games this season and earned himself recognition as a Golden Glove finalist.
