Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 rugged smartphone now official

Samsung has announced a new rugged smartphone designed for the mobile workforce in tough environments, the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5.

The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 features a rugged exterior with enhanced shock absorption to withstand drops of up to 1.5 meters. It is also IP68-rated for dust and water resistance, meaning it can be submerged in over a meter of water for longer than 30 minutes with complete protection against dust.

Professionals on the field required to wear gloves won’t be required to remove them thanks to its Glove Touch feature. It also has an integrated walkie-talkie (push-to-talk) function in Microsoft Teams, and a programmable XCover Key for quick access to frequently used apps such as LED flashlight, emergency calls, or maps.
