The Arizona Coyotes have signed general manager Bill Armstrong to a multi-year contract extension, the club announced Wednesday. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Armstrong, 53, has been the Coyotes GM since Sept. 17, 2020. As an assistant GM and director of scouting for St. Louis, Armstrong had a direct hand in building the Blues’ 2019 Stanley Cup champion.
Armstrong has seen a lot in his short time as NHL GM: The Coyotes were kicked out of their rink in Glendale after the 2021-23 season and played last season – and the foreseeable future – at the 4,700-seat capacity Mullett Arena on the grounds of Arizona State University.
The Coyotes are 111-116-17 and have missed the playoffs all three years Armstrong has been GM.
