The Philadelphia Phillies and right-handed starter Aaron Nola have agreed to a seven-year, $172 million contract, according to multiple reports Sunday.
Nola, who was drafted by the Phillies in the first round in 2014, has spent the past nine major-league seasons with the club.
One of the most durable starters in MLB, Nola has logged over 180 innings in every full season since 2018.
In 2023, the 30-year-old posted a 4.46 ERA with 202 strikeouts over 193.2 innings. He also played a key role in Philadelphia’s trip to the NLCS, pitching a 2.35 ERA and picking up three wins over four starts.
