Lazaro Estrada is expected to join the Toronto Blue Jays from triple-A Buffalo, Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith reported.
The 26-year-old has a 4.75 ERA with 66 strikeouts and 21 walks in 60.2 innings as a starter in triple-A.
In order to make room for Estrada, the Blue Jays will have to clear a 40-man spot.
The Cuban originally signed with Toronto in 2018. Estrada has been hampered by injuries which limited him to 39.1 innings across 2021 and 2022.
Last season, Estrada posted a 3.29 ERA across three level of the minors, topping out at double-A.
