Rangers’ Vincent Trocheck out week-to-week with upper-body injury

The New York Rangers’ depth up the middle is about to be tested.

Rangers centre Vincent Trocheck has been listed week-to-week with an upper-body injury, the team told reporters on Saturday.

The 32-year-old left Thursday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres in the second period and did not return, though it wasn’t clear exactly when he suffered the injury.

Trocheck is in his fourth season with the Rangers and had a 248-game iron man streak before this injury.

Last season in New York, the Pittsburgh native scored 26 goals and recorded 59 points in 82 games.

In 803 career NHL games with the Rangers, Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers, Trocheck has 223 goals and 579 points.
