The Toronto Maple Leafs are benching one of their top scorers this season.
Calle Jarnkrok, who is second on the team with three goals, will sit in favour of Steven Lorentz on Saturday against the Seattle Kraken, head coach Craig Berube confirmed.
Lorentz, of Kitchener, Ont., suffered an upper-body injury last Saturday against the Red Wings. He missed two games due to the ailment, and was a healthy scratch Thursday as Berube chose not to mess with a winning formula.
Now, he’ll draw back in for the Hockey Night in Canada duel (Sportsnet and Sportsnet+, 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT).
