Gadget Reviews Roundup: February 2022

Things are starting to heat up in the tech world as more and more devices are introduced in the market. But before we get our hands on it, let’s take a look at the gadgets we reviewed in February, which include the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Redmi Note 11 Series, and Huawei P50 Pocket, to name a few.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11

Redmi Note 11 22

Decent is the right word to describe the Redmi Note 11 as it doesn’t have flashy features. But maybe that’s more than enough for most users, especially given its low price tag. The Redmi Note 11 4GB + 64GB is priced at PHP 9,499, while the 6GB + 128GB is priced at PHP 9,999. It has nice specs, adequate performance, excellent display, and attractive design.

It didn’t stray away much from its predecessor, but its upgrades in faster charging, overall performance, 120Hz refresh rate, and 5G connectivity seem like practical improvements that a lot of users would want to have. It’s more than enough for its price, making this another bang-for-your-buck device from Xiaomi.

This model didn’t get major trimmings when it comes to features compared to its higher sibling the V23 Pro, making this somewhat the more practical choice between the two. Within the premium midrange competition, there are other smartphones with better features such as IP rating, faster charging, 120Hz refresh rate, and better choice of hardware; but what the V23 has an edge on is in its cameras and that unique trendy UV design.

Lenovo Legion 7 w/ Ryzen 9 5900HX, RTX 3080

Legion 7 1

The Lenovo Legion 7 is a great replacement for a desktop if you plan to work on the go. Especially if you’re a professional that needs this much power when you are traveling, it is a great device with minimal compromises. It’s definitely not the cheapest laptop around, but what you get is something that really checks a lot of boxes for most people.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 2 1

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is priced at Php68,990 for the 8GB + 128GB, Php72,990 for the 12GB + 256GB, and Php80,990 for the 12GB + 512GB variants. It doesn’t cost any more than the Galaxy S21 Ultra did when it was first released and while it seems to be quite similar to its predecessor on paper, it has feature upgrades, comes with a new processor that enables better low light photography and gives more A.I. capabilities to the cameras, while also refining the design and offering a brighter display.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon w/ Ryzen 7 5800U

The Slim 7 Carbon with Ryzen 7 5800U should be able to accommodate a quick edit or a quick report to be made while on the go. Although it was meant primarily for productivity purposes, a little gaming can be done on the side. At PHP 86,995, the laptop does its job of being a portable and lightweight device to accommodate basic to intermediate tasks that would be required to be done while traveling.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S 12

The Redmi Note 11S is positioned quite well among the Note 11 series. It’s like an upgraded version of the Note 11, sporting a powerful chipset that performed better in AnTuTu, a higher main camera resolution, a higher front camera resolution, bigger RAM, and longer battery life.

Infinix Note 10 Pro 2022

Infinix Note 10 Pro 2022 8

The Infinix Note 10 Pro 2022 is available in two configurations: the 128GB option has an SRP of PHP 9,990, while the 256GB is available for PHP 11,990. Those are convincing enough numbers for what this phone offers. It’s a well-rounded daily driver with just enough features that can even handle mobile gaming. If you’re into large phones, this one sure is a great choice.
