Intel is really setting the bar for speedy desktop processors. Intel unveils their newest 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900KS which is focused on desktop gamers and content creators.
The i9-12900KS processor possesses 16 cores (eight Performance-cores and eight Efficient-cores) and 24 threads, a max turbo frequency of up to 5.5GHz paired with Intel Thermal Velocity, a processor base power of 150W, Intel Smart Cache of 30MB for additional performance, and PCIe Gen 5.0 and 4.0 support.
It also has the Intel Adaptive Boost Technology for improved gaming performance by opportunistically allowing higher multi-core turbo frequencies. It also supports up to DDR5 4800 MT/s and DDR4 3200 MT/s and its chipset is well-suited for Z690 motherboards as long the BIOS is on its latest version for a better experience. Take note that this processor can be overclocked taking its performance of it to the next level.
