Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will apparently begin training camp with his new club.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday that Garoppolo, who has been recovering from a left foot injury, has passed his training camp physical and will not end up on the physically unable to perform list.
Garoppolo sustained the foot injury on Dec. 4 while playing with the San Francisco 49ers and missed the remainder of the season.
The 31-year-old had surgery after signing a three-year, $67.5 million contract with the Raiders in March.
Garoppolo has completed 1,167 passes for 14,289 yards and 87 touchdowns during his nine-year career with the New England Patriots and 49ers.
Trey Lance was named the 49ers’ starting quarterback over Garoppolo in training camp last season. However, Lance sustained a season-ending ankle injury in Week 2 and Garoppolo ended up starting 10 games. Garoppolo finished the year with 207 completions for 2,437 yards and 16 touchdowns.
