The Russell Wilson sweepstakes are starting to heat up with the free agent quarterback wasting no time searching for his next team.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Wilson was spotted in Newark, N.J., and has spoken with the New York Giants and that a meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers is next on his list.
Wilson also reportedly has the Las Vegas Raiders on his list of potential suitors, Schefter adds.
The veteran quarterback is being released by the Denver Broncos after the league year begins on March 13 after two disappointing seasons.
Wilson won just 11 of his 30 starts with Denver who haven’t made the playoffs since winning the Super Bowl in 2016.
Money likely won’t be a big determining factor in where Wilson lands with the Broncos owing the 35-year-old $39 million for 2024. Denver is taking on a record $85 million hit in dead cap charges over the next two seasons after signing him to a five-year, $245 million extension.
