Apple has recently launched a support page that reveals more details about the low power mode on the AirPods Max.
The special case puts AirPods Max in an ultralow-power state that helps to preserve battery charge when not in use. Unique from other wireless headphones, the AirPods Max features various power modes when used with or without the Smart Case.
Do note that it can also be charged inside the Smart Case.
As stated on Apple’s support page, users may keep the AirPods Max in the Smart Case when not in use. This switches on the low power mode to save battery. Leaving the AirPods Max in the Smart Case for 18 hours activates the ultralow-power mode that turns off Bluetooth and Find My feature that allows users to search for the device and maximizes battery life. After 72 hours, the AirPods Max will switch into a lower power mode that turns off Bluetooth and Find My service to preserve battery further.
Any AirPods Max that is left for 5 minutes without the Smart Case automatically switches to a low power mode.
Charging the AirPods Max for 55 minutes gives users of music playback. The AirPods Max can get up to 20 hours of battery life with the Active Noise Cancellation, and spatial audio turned on.
