Qualcomm has recently announced its newest mobile chipset, the Snapdragon 678.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 678, a follow-on to the previous Snapdragon 675, aims to deliver overall performance upgrades, high-speed connections for advanced photo and video capture, and immersive entertainment experiences. The enhancements include the Qualcomm Kryo 460 CPU core clock speed up to 2.2GHz and Qualcomm Adreno 612 GPU performance increase.
“Snapdragon 678 brings advanced mobile capabilities for daily entertainment at lightning-fast speeds over reliable connections and long-lasting battery life for consumers worldwide,” Vice President Product Management of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc, Kedar Kondap, stated.
More upgrades include support to dynamic photography and videography abilities and immersive entertainment experiences with long battery life and reliable connectivity. It got the Qualcomm Spectra 250L ISP that supports 192MP captured images, dual cameras up to 16MP, 5x optical zoom, portrait mode, and the like. Moreover, it delivers brighter photos without draining power with the Hexagon 685 DSP.
Additionally, it features the Snapdragon X12 LTE Modem that supports LTE advanced carrier aggregation for peak download speeds up to 600 Mbps and upload speeds up to 150 Mbps while supporting all major cellular modes plus Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) for increased capacity.
