Qualcomm shares Snapdragon 888 5G official benchmark results

Qualcomm has recently shared the official benchmark results for its latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 888 5G.

The tests were conducted on a special Qualcomm reference device called Lahaina powered by the Snapdragon 888. It has a 6.65-inch FHD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 512GB UFS 3.0 storage.

Qualcomm used the following benchmarking tests: AnTuTu, GeekBench, GFXBench Aztec Normal and Manhattan 3.0, Ludashi AiMark, AITuTu, MLPerf, and UL Procyon. Each benchmark was tested on the Qualcomm reference device three times to produce an average score. Do note that the reference device is in default settings.

Check out the full list below:

The Snapdragon 888 sports Qualcomm’s third-generation Snapdragon X60 5G Modem-RF System. It offers sub-6 and mmWave 5G support for all major bands worldwide, global multi-SIM, carrier aggregation, and Dynamic Spectrum Sharing. Moreover, the chipset is expected to deliver improved performance and power efficiency for AI tasks with 26 tera operations per second (TOPS). This is 73% more than the previous generation. Mated with Adreno 660 GPU, it delivers 35% faster graphics rendering compared to its predecessor.

According to Qualcomm, smartphones powered with the Snapdragon 888 are expected to be available in Q1 2021. Do note that benchmark results may vary between the Snapdragon 888 reference design and future commercial devices due to differences in performance settings, storage components, display refresh rates, the timing of software updates, and more.
