Xbox Wireless Headset now official

Microsoft has unveiled a new accessory to give Xbox users a more immersive audio experience when gaming, the Xbox Wireless Headset.

The design of the Xbox Wireless headset shares the same shapes and colors found on the new Xbox consoles. The controls and indicators also feature the circular geometry in the Xbox Series X and Series S. It features ultra-soft large earcups made of polyurethane leather that distributes pressure evenly over the ears. The adjustable headband has an inner metal band with a thick cushion, rubberized dial rings, a full adjustable mic that tucks up when not in use, and rotating earcup dials for intuitive adjusting of volume and game/chat audio.

Microsoft says that it boats best-in-class audio performance with intelligent chat audio quality, with the help of dual beamforming microphone elements that focus on speech audio vs. surrounding sound. There’s also Voice isolation tuning to help the mic pick up voice rather than background ambient noise, an Auto-mute feature, and a Manual mute button.

It supports the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 PCs and connects to mobile devices via Bluetooth. You can also simultaneously pair the headset to your phone and Xbox, so you can dial-in to a conference call on your phone and play on your console at the same time.

It works with the Xbox Accessories app on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows 10 devices to let you fine-tune the audio controls, including equalizer settings, bass boost, auto-mute sensitivity, mic monitoring, and brightness of mic’s mute light. It can also receive wireless updates from the console.

For the battery, 30 minutes of charging provides 4 hours of battery life, while 3 hours of charging can provide up to 15 hours.

The new Xbox Wireless Headset will be available for USD 99 beginning March 16 in most worldwide Xbox markets and can be pre-ordered at select retailers, including Microsoft Store, starting on February 16 at 7 a.m. PST.
