High-End 2-in-1 Laptops You Can Buy With PHP 175,000

The story on DOH’s call for bid submission of 4 high-end 2-in-1 laptops has gotten a lot of attention, especially for the fact that the budget is worth PHP 700,000. That is a whopping PHP 175,000 per laptop.

Granted that’s quite a large sum of money, we looked around to see what type of 2-in-1 laptops we can get for that amount, and here’s what we found out (with at least 10th-gen Core i5 processors).

Dell XPS 15 9575 2-in-1
15.6″ FHD+ (1920 x 1200) InfinityEdge Touch
Intel i7-10750H (12MB Cache, up to 5.0 GHz, 6 cores)

512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti 4GB GDDR6
Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 (2×2)

17.0″ UHD+ (3840 x 2400) InfinityEdge Touch
10th Generation Intel Core i7-10750H (12MB Cache, up to 5.0 GHz, 6 cores)
16GB DDR4-2933MHz, 2x8GB
1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti 4GB GDDR6
Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 (2×2)
Bluetooth 5.1
Windown 10 Home Single License
SRP: Php169,990

Apparently, there are not a lot of 2-in-1 laptops that have a 15.6-inch display or higher that is available in the Philippines.

Lenovo has the ThinkPad X1 Carbon but that’s only available in 14-inch models (PHP 107k in Lazada). The HP Spectre x360 that we saw in Lazada is 9th-gen at PHP 137k while a 10th gen being offered by Galleon.ph costs PHP 160k.

Then, there’s the additional cost for Office 365 and other accessories (mouse, USB hub, etc) which we can peg at PHP 5k in total. Also, the standard warranty for laptops is just 12 months. The bid documents requested for 36 months so there will be an additional premium for that as well.

It looks like the IT guys in DOH were looking at the Dell XPS 15 and XPS 17 when they outlined the specs for the requested laptop.
