LG Electronics has unveiled the LG UltraGear Gaming Speaker (GP9)—its first-ever sound solution designed for gamers.
According to LG, the new LG GP9 speaker boasts a proprietary 3D Gaming Sound technology that incorporates a specially-designed HRTF (head-related transfer function) algorithm to tailer a game’s audio according to the genre—resulting in a detailed virtual surround sound. Additionally, the GP9 speaker features Game Genre Optimizer with two modes, that match the user’s game.
The LG GP9 speaker allows users to communicate with other players without the need for separate headsets or microphones, because it has a built-in mic that is equipped with LG’s echo-cancellation algorithm. Speaking of built-in, LG mentioned that the GP9 has Hi-Fi Quad DAC which is mostly seen in audio equipment.
Furthermore, the LG GP9 speaker holds its controls at the top of it, which is accompanied with RGB lighting that can display 16.8 million colors. For connectivity, the speakers include USB-C and other ports that allow for connections between the device and the PC. It also supports Bluetooth for wireless connectivity.
The LG GP9 speaker will be launching in key markets worldwide starting in South Korea and the United States, as well as select markets in Europe starting from September.
