The Ottawa Redblacks are making a big change at running back.
The CFL club signed former Saskatchewan Roughriders star Jamal Morrow to its practice roster and released starter Ryquell Armstead on Tuesday.
Morrow was courted by the Calgary Stampeders in the off-season, but the Stamps had concerns about his health after he suffered a wrist injury.
Morrow tweeted last week he was cleared to play.
Morrow was sixth in the league last season with 907 rushing yards. He was fourth in 2022.
Armstead, who played 18 games with the Jacksonville Jaguars after being a fifth-round pick in 2019, is fourth in the CFL this season with 623 rushing yards.
The Redblacks, who sit second in the East at 7-3-1, return to action Saturday against the visiting Toronto Argonauts.
