MediaTek’s upcoming chipset, the MT6893, has exceeded the performance of Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 in AnTuTu.
The MT6893 is part of MediaTek’s lineup of chipsets built on a 6nm architecture. Although the number of cores is still unknown, it has four cores of Cortex-A78 and four cores of Cortex-A55. Mated with a Mali-G77 GPU, the quadcore processor is similar in specifications to the Samsung Exynos 1080.
According to AnTuTu, the MediaTek MT6893 garnered a total score of 622409 versus Qualcomm Snapdragon 865’s 611419. The former excels in memory and GPU performance, recording 123535 and 235175. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, on the other hand, has 103906 and 222405 for the mentioned categories.
However, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 recorded higher UX and CPU department scores 350 and 186750, respectively. For comparison, the MT6893 got 88348 and 175351.
AnTuTu’s benchmarks for the MediaTek MT6893 was done from a smartphone equipped with 8GB of memory, 256GB storage, and an FHD+ display (2300 × 1080) with a 90Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the latest benchmarks for the Snapdragon 865 were taken under the OPPO Find X2 Pro (8 GB + 256GB) variant.
