realme Flash and MagDart wireless charging tech now official

realme has officially launched the realme Flash concept smartphone, the first Android smartphone that supports magnetic wireless charging, and MagDart tech, the first magnetic wireless charging solution for Android.

The realme Flash is a concept smartphone that packs a 4,500mAh battery and can support the 50W MagDart wireless charging. realme says that it can charge the battery from 0% to 100% in less than an hour, performing nearly the same as the realme 50W SuperDart wired charger.

The main star of the show is the MagDart, which realme claims is the world’s fastest magnetic wireless charger. The 50W wireless charger features an active air cooling system that keeps the mainboard and coil temperatures at a reasonable level while charging. It uses a compact and powerful fan that can quickly remove heat by drawing a large airflow into the charger so that it can maintain the charging power at a high level for a longer time.

realme is also introducing a slimmer 15W MagDart magnetic wireless charger that measures only 3.9mm thick. The company says that it is faster than Apple’s MagSafe due to its Separated Coil & Board design. It sets the mainboard and the coil at the two ends of the charging plug and the charging pad respectively, thus making the charging pad thin with only one charging coil. The design also reduces heat generation for longer charging hours. It can charge the 4,500mAh battery from 0 to 100% in 90 minutes.

Aside from wireless chargers, realme also unveiled the 2-in-1 MagDart Power Bank, which is a power bank and base combo. The phone can be charged from the power bank, and the base can charge the battery bank at the same time. If you need to charge on the go, the power bank can be pulled up and attached to the smartphone. For the design, the power bank uses white vegan leather and aluminum.

realme is leveraging on the magnetic features of MagDart by introducing other accessories like the MagDart Beauty Light for portrait photography, which uses the smartphone’s reverse charging to provide power.

There’s the MagDart wallet that can hold three standard credit cards but also functions as a kickstand for when you’re watching movies or making video calls.

Then there’s the realme GT MagDart Charging Case that can enable realme GT compatibility with MagDart. This case connects through the Type-C connector and allows the phone to be charged wirelessly via the MagDart technology.

No word yet on local availability.
