Acer has just released a special edition of the Acer Aspire Vero, the National Geographic Edition. This special edition incorporates the design elements of the planet Earth.
According to Acer, each purchase of this special version helps support the US-based nonprofit organization National Geographic Society in its work to protect the world through exploration, research, and education.
The design features a topographical map on the lid of the device, as well as the Nationa Geographic logo on the keyboard rest area of the laptop.
“Acer has been taking steps over the past several years to reduce its ecological footprint. The Vero product lineup, born from our Earthion platform, represents the latest of these efforts,” said James Lin, General Manager, Notebooks, IT Products Business, Acer Inc. “We’re pleased with the reception the Aspire Vero has received from users and media alike, and we hope our efforts will encourage partners and industry colleagues to take similar steps in their own capacity.”
The original Vero’s chassis consisted of 30% post-consumer recycled plastic and was carefully selected by the company for its balance of durability, rigidity, and aesthetics. The Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition builds on this design by also using 30% PCR in the laptops screen bezel and 50% in its keycaps, further reducing the laptop’s footprint. Acer has also made it easier to make repairs and upgrades to the laptop, the bottom cover comes off with eleven standard Phillips-head screws that allows users to replace the RAM and hard drive.
Powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics, the Acer Aspire Vero also features Windows 11 out of the box, as well as WiFi 6. For full specs, check out our review of the Acer Aspire Vero right here.
