PNP “mystery passengers” deployed to monitor compliance with ‘No Vaccination, No Ride’ policy

The Philippine National Police has announced that they will be deploying “mystery passengers” on public utility vehicles to ensure compliance with the ‘no vaccination, no ride’ policy of the DOTr in Metro Manila.

According to a report by Inquirer.net, PNP spokesperson Roderick Alba said that these “mystery passengers” will find out who among passengers of mass transport have yet to get vaccinated. They will also take note of public utility vehicles’ plate numbers as well as the routes they are plying and then report them to concerned authorities. The PNP or DOTr will not announce when or where these “mystery passengers” will be deployed.

The DOTr began deploying so-called “mystery passengers” starting January 17, 2022, the first day of the no vaccine, no ride policy of the agency. The deployment of these passengers will last until Metro Manila is under Alert Level 3, which is currently until January 31.
