Meta, formerly Facebook, Inc, is now opening its doors with its first physical retail store in Burlingame, California this May 9.
Dubbed the Meta Store, customers will be able to get to experience hands-on all hardware products Meta has to offer. This includes having interactive demos on video calling through Meta Portal, Ray-Ban Stories, and most especially with its VR headset, the Meta Quest 2. On top of the news of opening the Meta Store, Meta has also announced that it has made shopping for Meta products online much easier with the introduction of the Shop tab on meta.com.
“The Meta Store is going to help people make that connection to how our products can be the gateway to the metaverse in the future. We’re not selling the metaverse in our store, but hopefully people will come in and walk out knowing a little bit more about how our products will help connect them to it.” – Martin Gilliard, Head of Meta Store
The opening of the Meta Store is in the hopes of ultimately showing people what is possible with their products and give a glimpse on what the Metaverse will be in the future. The store is roughly 1,550 square feet and located near Reality Labs HQ, which Meta is helping build the Metaverse with.
