Waze just released a Retro Mode in which you can experience the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s while using the app. This nostalgic new driving experience was made to celebrate the trends and known personalities from those years that have made an impact on today’s pop culture.
Waze offers three options in Retro Mode:
‘70s peace, love, and happiness
- An eccentric radio DJ as your host and navigator
- Fower-power “El Vanarino” as your vehicle in the app
- Groovy lava lamp mood
‘80s Jazzercise
- Aerobics instructors as your host and navigator
- Rad Racer sports car as your vehicle in the app
- Pumped boombox Mood
‘90s classic two-door “SUV4EVA”
- Popstar voice as your host and navigator
- A yellow pick up-ish truck
- Dialed Up mood with a classic desktop PC
Waze is also partnering with TuneIn, an audio streaming service to allow users to access your favorite retro music from the ‘70s to ‘90s.
To activate it, click “My Waze” in your Waze app and tap the “Drive with the 80’s” banner. This update has been released globally in English, French, and Portuguese but for a limited time only.
