In the midst of a horrific season, the Edmonton Elks announced Tuesday they have agreed to part ways with team president/CEO Victor Cui.
The move comes with the Elks at 0-9 on the season, Cui’s second with the club. Last year, the Elks finished 4-14.
The Elks have lost a North American pro sports record 22 consecutive home games. They also have lost 13 games in a row overall, one shy of the modern-day CFL record held by the Shreveport Pirates.
Cui, an Edmonton native, was hired in January 2022 to replace the fired Chris Presson. The club had hired Chris Jones to serve as GM, head coach and defensive co-ordinator before bringing Cui aboard.
Cui previously was co-founder of ONE Championship, a mixed martial arts organization in Singapore.
