The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled forward Pontus Holmberg from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, the team announced Friday.
In a corresponding move, the team loaned defenceman Simon Benoit to the Marlies.
Holmberg, 24, had five goals and eight assists in 37 games with the Maple Leafs last season. In two games with the Marlies this season, he has one goal and one assist.
Benoit has not appeared in a game for Toronto this season. The 25-year-old defenceman spent last season with the Anaheim Ducks, where he had three goals and seven assists in 78 games.
