Oilers to go with Stuart Skinner as starting goaltender vs. Canucks

The Edmonton Oilers will turn to Stuart Skinner for their rematch against the Vancouver Canucks Saturday night.

The decision comes after Jack Campbell was pulled from the season opener after allowing four goals on 16 shots. Skinner replaced Campbell in the second period and allowed another four goals on 17 shots.

Campbell beat out Skinner for the starting job out of training camp after posting a 3-0 record along with a .0.99 goals-against average and a .971 save percentage.

The Oilers are hoping Campbell can bounce back from a tough season where he had a 21-9-4 record while posting a 3.41 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage in 36 appearances.

Sinner took over for Campbell down the stretch and into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Skinner had a 29-14-6 record with a 2.75 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage in 50 games during the regular season and a 5-6 record with a 3.68 goals-against average and .833 save percentage in the playoffs.
