Previously, we have shared with you different ways on how you can register as a voter through the COMELEC Voter Registration Guide. The voter registration in the Philippines runs until September 30, 2021. And, with just a few days left, some of you might still be thinking about whether you’ll register or not; or whether you’ll reactivate your registration record.
If you are a registered voter and did not participate in the past two elections, your voting status is deactivated. Thus, this would hinder you from voting for the upcoming 2022 elections unless you reactivate your voter status. Whatever the case might be, we hope you would consider registering or reactivating your registration so you can exercise your right to vote.
Good thing, though, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has allowed reactivating voter registration records online. So read on for the step-by-step process on how to reactivate your registration record online.
Different Types of Application
The COMELEC’s online reactivation process can be done for the following types of applications:
• Reactivation of voting record
• Reactivation with correction of entries
• Reactivation with transfer within the same locality
• Reactivation with transfer within the same locality and correction of entries
• Reactivation with updating of senior citizens, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) records
How to Reactivate Online?
STEP 1: Accomplish the voter registration form
Get the CEF-1 form which you can download from the COMELEC website. You can fill that out either manually or digitally and then print it using legal-size paper (8.5” x 13”).
Take note of the following when filling out the form:
• CEF-1 front page: Check the appropriate oval and supply the required information. Affix your signature above your printed name, and write the date below it. Write your active mobile number/s or email address/es at the top right portion of the form, below the words, REVISED CEF-1.
• CEF-1 back page: Fill out parts 1 and 2, including the oath, thumbprints, and signatures.
STEP 2: Scan your documents
Scan the necessary documents and email them to the email address of your local Office of the Election Officer, which you can find on the COMELEC website. Moreover, the email subject line must indicate the type of application being filed.
Check out the list of the documents to be submitted:
• Accomplished Application form (CEF-1)
• Valid ID
• Supplementary Data Form (for senior citizens, PWDs, and PDLs who want to update their records)
STEP 3: Wait for confirmation from the Office of the Election Officer (OEO)
Your OEO will contact you through the mobile number or the email address that you provided.
• An online interview: The OEO will provide a time and date for your online interview through select platforms: Zoom, MS Teams, Viber, Facebook Messenger, etc.
• Personal appearance: If your biometrics are incomplete or corrupted, you will be advised to appear personally at the OEO to complete the capturing of biometrics.
• Additional documents: The OEO may require you to submit additional supporting documents online to support your application.
