Corsair is a staple when making a decision to purchase peripherals. Recently, they collaborated with esports professionals to come up with the Corsair Champion Series, and one of them is the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Champion Series Gaming Mouse. Read our hands-on below.
The collaboration with esports professionals aims to provide a comfortable and fast mouse suitable for all types of grip – ultimately for first-person shooter (FPS) or multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games.
Corsair has managed to strip everything unnecessary in order to deliver a 74g mouse for under PHP 3K. Measuring 129mm x 43mm, they were able to put more function into the design than fancy design. The almost symmetrical shape of the mouse fits snuggly into a palm grip user offering strong hand support.
Prior to plugging it in, the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Champion Series gives a nostalgic feel with its grainy matte coating. Moving over to the sides of the mouse, it is noticeable that Corsair opted to create an almost straight side instead of deep curves. Though shapes of mice normally boil down to preference, this particular design is meant to avoid bending the wrist while in use.
Once plugged in, users would instantaneously take notice of the RGB on the scroll wheel as well as the logo. On the left-hand side, there are three small light strips that indicate the DPI profile set mouse is set to.

Another notable design element worth mentioning is the 2.1m braided cable that the Corsair Sabre Pro RGB mouse comes with. There is a bit of a drag to it but is hardly noticeable depending on the cable management from the user’s pc.
To change the DPI profiles, install the iCUE Software that controls the RGB as well. To rotate through the DPI profiles, the switch is located under the scroll wheel.
Equipped with the PixArt PMW3392 optical sensor, the mouse can reach 18,000 DPI. Though we feel that anything above 3,200 DPI is excessive, it is nice to know that there is that capability and need for some people.
With the Quickstrike Omron switches, it gave a reliable and speedy response without missing any click. In terms of longevity, these switches can last up to 50 million clicks.
Corsair was able to integrate Hyperpolling of up to 8000Hz which gives a speedier communication to the pc at 0.125milliseconds. Corsair set out a recommendation for either an Intel Core i7 9th generation or AMD Ryzen 2nd generation processors for a better hyper-polling experience
The Corsair Sabre RGB Pro is centered on performance and competition. It strikes an equilibrium between weight, appearance, and functionality. At the price of PHP 2,750, this particular mouse is easily a recommendation for newcomers to the esports scene for mainstream mice.
