Garmin unveils the Instinct 2 smartwatch. A solar-powered smartwatch comes in two sizes – a 45 mm diameter for the base model and a 40mm for the Instinct 2S units for smaller wrists.
Both sizes have a non-solar version with a 176x176px resolution and a 0.9-inch by 0.9-inch square display for the 45mm models, while the 40mm variant has 0.79-inch by 0.79-inch display. The Instinct series uses a monochrome transflective memory-in-pixel LCD for legibility and battery efficiency.
With the Garmin Connect IQ store, apps and widgets are able to be downloaded to customize to exercise and work needs adapting from other series features like the new solar panel and heart rate sensor.
It is supported by Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity allowing the watch to read data from other sensors as well as send data.
The Garmin Instinct 2 and Instinct 2S starts at a price of USD 349.99.
