Google has announced that its VPN by Google One is now available for iOS, allowing iPhone and iPad users to take advantage of the security features of the company’s VPN service.
VPN by Google One was first rolled out to Android in 2020. It protects your data by traveling through a strongly encrypted tunnel operated by Google through its secure global servers. A VPN is a must especially if you want to secure your connection when you’re on a public network, prevent eavesdropping by hackers, and reduce online tracking by hiding your IP address.
Similar to Android, the VPN will be available to Google One members on Premium plans (2 TB and higher) through the Google One app on iOS. Plus, members can share their plan and the VPN with up to five family members at no extra cost, so they can all use the VPN, no matter whether they’re using an Android or iOS phone.
Google has also expanded the VPN in 10 more countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. The company will soon expand to more countries over time.
