Captain Boone Jenner will miss up to six weeks after breaking his jaw Friday night in a game against the St. Louis, the Columbus Blue Jackets announced Saturday.
The team placed Boone on injured reserve.
Jenner was hit the face with a shot in the second period and left the game. He had one shot on goal in 12:16 of ice time before leaving the game.
Jenner is the Blue Jackets’ second-leading scorer, with 13 goals and five assists for 18 points in 29 games. He leads the Columbus forwards in ice time, with an average of 19:18 per game.
