Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has begun counseling following his indefinite suspension and is expected to be out for at least three weeks, as reported by the Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Green was suspended indefinitely by the NBA following an incident on Dec. 12 where he struck Phoenix Suns centre Jusuf Nurkic and was subsequently ejected.
This was the latest incident involving Green as he was suspended five games in November for his involvement in an altercation with Minnesota Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert.
The NBA has made it clear that the indefinite nature of Green’s suspension has to do with his “repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts,” as put by Joe Dumars, NBA executive vice president and head of basketball operations in a statement.
Details of what Green will have to do to return to the court remain private and will be managed between the league, the team, and Green himself.
Golden State is 12-14 so far this season and 2-1 since Green’s ejection. They’ll return to action on Tuesday as they host the Boston Celtics.
