While the Los Angeles Angels lost the biggest star in the game in Shohei Ohtani this off-season, Mike Trout isn’t about to request a trade right now.
Checking in at spring training on Monday, Trout told reporters he’s happy in Anaheim, but left the door open to a trade down the line.
Trout said he has been pushing ownership and management to make additions in free agency.
Several big names remain available, including Scott Boras clients Blake Snell, Jordan Montgomery, Cody Bellinger and Matt Chapman.
The Angels have made the playoffs just once since Trout’s rookie-of-the-year campaign in 2012.
The team hasn’t been able to have much success, despite having three MVP seasons from Trout and two from Ohtani, who signed a record-breaking deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers this off-season.
Trout signed a 12-year, $426.5-million deal with the Angels in 2019, meaning he is under contract through 2030.
