Google rolls out Google Pixel Buds 2 in the US. Coming in with a more compact and rounded design, the True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earphones from the brand offers more mobility and ships with several smart features.
Improving its audio hardware, the second-generation Google Pixel Buds are equipped with 12 mm dynamic speaker drivers and beamforming mics that provide clear audio even in noisy and windy environments. It also has a special sensor that detects users when they are talking. Through Adaptive Sound, the music volume is adjusted automatically based on the real-time changing noises in the user’s environment.
For faster and reliable pairing, the Google Pixel Buds 2 can now be paired on mobile devices by opening the lid of its charging case. It supports hands-free controls powered by Google Assistant, real-time translation with conversation mode, and detects lost earbuds by ringing it via Find My Device. Among other features include Qi certification for wireless charging, IPx4 certification for water and sweat resistance, and Gesture controls.
Like its predecessor, the Google Pixel Buds 2 offers 5 hours of continuous playback time and an additional 24 hours with the companion charging case. A quick 10-minute charge in the case gives users 2 hours of listening time. The buds take an hour to fully charge its battery.
The Google Pixel Buds 2 is now available in the US through the Google Store and authorized retailers for USD 179. Aside from the Clearly White, Google will release three more colors globally in the next few months: Almost Black, Quite Mint, and Oh So Orange.
