Adobe plans on a free web version of Photoshop

Adobe is planning to release a free web version of Adobe Photoshop to hook more users.

They’re currently testing the free version of the app in Canada where the user has access through a Free Adobe account based on the report from The Verge. The model of this app is similar to Canva which is “freemium”, meaning the app will offer a basic set of features for free and the user will need to pay a subscription basis for premium features.

Based on their testing, they’ve included core functions from the original Photoshop software based on Adobe.

“We want to make Photoshop more accessible and easier for more people to try it out and experience the product,” says Maria Yap, Adobe’s VP of digital imaging.

Last October 2021, Adobe released the first web version of Photoshop which has layers and other core editing tools for its users. This first web version is more projected as a collaboration tool for artists who want to get things done together with their peers.
