Instagram is experiencing a bug in which stories keeps on repeating. This ‘repeating stories‘ bug has been posted in Reddit and in other social media platforms.
Upon checking, not everyone is affected by this bug but there’s a significant number of people who are experiencing it. Based on the of The Verge, Meta spokesperson Christine Pai sent an email to them stating that Meta is “aware that some people are having trouble accessing Instagram Stories.” The spokesperson also said that Instagram is “working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible,” and apologizes for the inconvenience.”
So what happens is it seems that the Instagram application doesn’t remember where user left off after viewing someone’s stories. For example, if a user has already viewed four (4) stories our of five (5) from someone’s Instagram Stories, it is expected that once the user goes back, it’ll be able to view right away the fifth story, but what happens is that the user will automatically go back to the first story and has to view it all again.
This isn’t the first time that this happened because this happened around 2020 with the same kind of bug it was resolved just a few hours after.
