Fossil has just unveiled its newest generation Hybrid smartwatch for people wanting a middle ground between a traditional watch and a modern smartwatch.
The Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid combines the best of both worlds by offering the style and look of classy watches but also smart features found in smartwatches, most notably support for Amazon Alexa.
The Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid’s design will feature physical watch hands but also customizable watch faces. According to Android Authority, it will also come in two styles: Machine and Stella. With Machine being larger with a 45mm case while Stella having a 40.5mm case for smaller wrists.
Machine will come in Black, Silver, and Smoke. While Stella will come in more chic options such as Rose Gold, Silver, and Two-tone. Both styles will come with a selection of interchangeable bands with Machine being 24mm and Stella 18mm in size.
Smart features will include most significantly, integration with Amazon Alexa, which enables users to interact with Alexa using voice commands through the watch’s built-in microphone.
Other features include monitoring for oxygen saturation and heart rate, smart notifications for calls and texts, and basic health and fitness tracking. Fossil also claims that its battery life can last up to 2 weeks.
The Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid will be compatible with both Android and iOS. Fossil also released an update to its smartwatch companion app, Fossil Smartwatches.
The Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid is available on Fossil’s website for USD 229 with a leather or silicone wristband and USD 249 for the optional metallic bracelet model. No word has been made on local availability and pricing here in the Philippines just yet.
