DSWD releases initial list of drivers eligible to receive Social Amelioration Program

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has released an initial list of PUV drivers eligible to receive the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) from the DSWD.

Due to the imposed enhanced community quarantine, Public Utility Vehicle drivers are unable to operate. To compensate for the loss of livelihood, the DSWD, in partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and Landbank of the Philippines will be giving out financial aid for the affected drivers.

As of writing, over 4,000 PUV drivers may claim the financial aid provided by DSWD’s SAP program starting today. To check if you’re eligible to receive the SAP assistance, visit the LTFRB’s Google Sheet here and use the search function, or check out DOTr’s PDF of names here.

Those who wish to claim their cash assistance may go to the nearest Landbank branch starting 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The requirements for claiming are as follows:

Drivers with license

• Driver’s license
• Photocopy of driver’s license with two signatures

Drivers with confiscated license

• Temporary Operator’s Permit
• A government-issued ID with signature
• Photocopy of ID with two signatures

Drivers with expired licenses (no later than September 30, 2019)

• Driver’s license
• Photocopy of driver’s license with two signatures

Drivers who will send a representative

• Letter of authority from the beneficiary with signature
• Driver’s license of the beneficiary
• Photocopy of driver’s license of the beneficiary with two signatures
• A valid government-issued ID of the representative
