AMA Education System to conduct full online classes for 2020-2021

AMA Education System recently shared that all schools under its network will shift from physical to online learning for the school year 2020-2021. It is slated to start its school year in June 2020.

This initiative is in response to the call of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on academic institutions in ensuring the availability of public education in the midst of current community lockdowns. Through this set-up, AMA students will be able to continue learning from the safety of their homes.

AMA has been previously using the blended learning model, offering full-online degrees and various courses through its AMA Online Education program. It will offer Senior High School strands as well as college degrees in Business, Communication, Engineering, and Information Technology.

The following schools nationwide will be implementing the online classes throughout the school year: AMA University and Colleges, ABE International Business College, ACLC and ACLC College, St. Augustine School of Nursing, Sta. Veronica College–La Union, South Luzon College-Cavite, and AMA Basic Education. Once schools and universities are allowed to conduct resume physical classes, AMA will only require students to be physically present in schools three days a week. The remaining days will be reserved for online classes.

In a briefing on May 11, DepEd said private schools may start the school year as early as June but no classes may be held in physical classrooms earlier than August 24. Class suspensions have been extended
since March to protect the students, faculty, and non-teaching staff from the threat of COVID-19.

Interested applicants for the program are required to pre-register through the AMAES website.
